On the afternoon of June 29th, the Second “China-Eastern African Countries Economic and Trade Salon” was held in Yuyang Hotel. A large number of African countries diplamats and representatives of Chinese enterprises attended the salon.
Firstly, president Zhang delivered the welcome speech, in which he expressed welcome to all the African diplomats and the guests. He said that based on the pricipline of “Cooperation, Pragmatism, Development and Win-win”, our foundation gives priority to undertaking government commissioned matters, committing to serving China-African countries economic and trade enterprises, promoting the development of bilateral economy, helping enterprises solve the operational risks on capital and financing, finding good cooperation and investment projects for domestic enterprises, and playing the role of bridge for African countries governments and enterprises to find high quality Chinese partners.

On behalf of Eastern African countries, Gissila, the Counsellor of Ethiopia extended his thanks to our foundation for holding this salon. Then he introduced the country profile, investment environment, favoured policy to the audiences, and attracted great attention from participating enterprises. At the same time, Vivian Jiang, the business officer of Ethiopia introduced the economic and trade development situation, investment opportunity and policy of Ethiopia in detail, which deeped Chinese enterprises representatives’ understanding of Ethiopia.

Entrusted by some Chinese enterprises, our foundation invited several diplamats from African countries to attend the salon. Kumba Alice Momoh, Minister of Sierra Leone introduced the country profile, agriculture, fisheries, mineral and corresponding investment policy sectors of Sierra Leone to the audience in her speech, hoping to carry out more friendly economic and trade cooperation with Chinese enterprises.

In order to promote Chinese enterprises to better understand Africa and entrusted by East African National Government, our foundation set up three business exploration routes for East African countries, and expected to help Chinese enterprises connect with African government, business associations, etc, so as to create good conditions for strengthening exchanges and cooperation with African countries.

At last, this salon came to an end in a friendly atmosphere. All the African dipmats and Chinese enterprises representatives expressed their heartfelt thanks to our foundation for providing exchange platform, and expected that our foundation can hold more such economic and trade activities, so as to further promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese enterprises and African diplomats. This salon can not only help Eastern African countries understand Chinese enterprises, but also help Chinese enterprises deepen understanding of Eastern African countries’ investment environment, and get rich information on economic and trade, which can creat more opportunities for bilateral cooperation, and contribute to China-Africa economic and trade development.
