The General Secretary Mr. Zhang Zongwu, went on a business talk to the Embassy of Ethiopia
On the afternoon of August 15th, at the invitation of the Ethiopian embassy in China, the General Secretary, Mr. Zhang Zongwu had a pleasant talk with the Charges of Affairs, Mr. Asaye Alemayehu Dejjenie and Minister Counsellor, Mr. Afework Shimelis Legesse.
A pleasant talk between both sides
Mr. Asaye showed his thanks to our visiting, and spoke highly of our activity he has attended. He expressed the desire to attend more economic and trade activities held by our foundation so as to promote the bilateral economy and trade through the platform we provided. He mentioned that Ethiopian companies would like to cooperate with Chinese companies in terms of food (coffee and sesame), textile, leather, medicine and so on. Chinese delegations are also very welcomed to go on business trips or invest in Ethiopia. Their embassy will give support to our foundation by providing related resources and information.
Mr. Afework patiently introduced the projects of different fields in detail, and expressed the desire to cooperate with Chinese companies in these fields, including: 1. Agriculture: food processing, fishing, cotton, sugar, wine; 2. Industry: textile, leather processing, clothes, building materials; 3. Energy: hydro power, solar and so on. Besides, Chinese companies are welcomed to attend the First International Agro-Industry Investment Forum which will be held on October 5th to 7th in Addis Ababa. On the forum, senior officials from Ethiopian government and international companies will also attend.
Mr. Zhang Zongwu expressed heartfelt gratitude to their invitation and their longstanding support to our foundation. Our foundation will integrate and classify the above economic and trade information and coordinate with related Chinese companies by organizing meetings, panels or other activities. We will try our best to help promote the economic and trade events in Ethiopia and strengthen China-Ethiopia cooperation.
This meeting ended in a pleasant atmosphere, which has brought fruitful results, accelerated friendship, expanded the scopes of cooperation, thus pushing forward the China-Ethiopia economic and trade communication and cooperation.
