Seminar on "Maritime Silk Road" International Maritime Transportation and Logistics Program Took Place at Our Office

The information session of the Msc of Trade Facilitation and Logistics for

the Belt and Road Initiative and MSc of Infrastructure System and Project Manag-

ement for the Belt and Road Initiative took place at the Foundation at October 16.

The ChinaAfrica Friendly Economic and Trade Foundation and Shanghai Jiao Tong

University are cofounders of the program. Diplomatic envoys of ten African countries

were very interested in this program and participated at the session. Professor Li

Shaopin, Research Director of the Institute of Engineering Management at Shaihai

Jiao Tong University and Ms. Shi Xiaoning of the same department gave introduction

of the program to the diplomatic envoys and answered their questions.

The program is a result of the demand from the national Maritime Silk Road Initiative.

Its courses involves trade facilitation and program management with an emphasis on

maritime transportation. The courses not only are taught in English, offers top level

faculties from the University, but also tailormade a career development program for the

African students which offers them internships at stateowned companies and private

companies in Shanghai,providing them the opportunity to develop mature theoretical

knowledge and pragmatic skills.

Because the ChinaAfrica Friendly Economic and Trade Foundation shares a

long term cooperation with many African countries, it is mission to cultivate the

future talents in maritime transportation. The Foundation organized the diplomatic

envoys recommend excellent students from their countries, and therefore made the

program a bridge built upon a friendly governmental relationship and future economic

development. President Zhang Yi of the Foundation expressed that, the program will

contribute to the sustainable development for China and Africa,and he hoped that the

Foundation will contribute to education and culture through working with embassies

and making sure that they recommend the best students to the program.
